The annual conference of the Society for the Preservation of Natural History met this year at Yale University hosted by the Peabody Museum. The theme of the conference was, "Emerging Technology and Innovation in Natural History Collections management". Meg Bellinger (Director of the Office of Digital Assets and Infrastructure at Yale) moderated three talks from Ken Hamma ('Implementation may be Problematic'), Paul N. Courant ('Digital Preservation - A Different Animal in Surprising Ways') and Dominic Oldman ('Collaborative Digital Research'). The slides and notes from Dominic's presentation (which provides a perspective on the rationale for the ResearchSpace project and the use of Linked Data) are provided in Files for view or download (View links are 1. SPNHC 2012 Slides  and 2. Notes. The presentation looks at individual digital collaborative initiatives (The Digital Classists wiki, Pelagios and Pleiades projects and the Zotero citation and annotation tool) and brings them together to form the ResearchSpace vision.
